Well, apparently we have been thrust into war with the Crane clan over our Yasuki lands. The Otomo family has traced back lineage of our family to over seven hundred years ago and have found that Yasuki Hachi (Formerly Daidoji Hachi) is the rightful heir to the Daimyoship. The Crane believe that this is a good reason to claim the Yasuki for their own.
Now being the Crab clan, Great defenders of the empire, we have decided not to let the Crane take what is rightfully ours without a fight. We also realize our ancestral duty of defending the empire. For these reasons, we have decided to branch our armies into equal, but adequately enough that we do not doom the empire. Many clans don't see the Crab as tactful as the Lion tacticians, or as honorable as the Crane, or as magically gifted as the Phoenix, or as maneuverable as the Unicorn, or as sneaky as the Scorpion, or nearly as mystical as the Dragon. We shall soon show those people how wrong they are on some of those inspections.
As a Crab samurai, I see our clan's planning for the coming invasion as a great tactical maneuver.
I see defending what belongs to your family as very honorable.
And I also know what our clan's shugenja and samurai are capable of, and with that knowledge I feel secure with the current position.
